Team Member Standards
A Texas Matthew 25 Team Member –
- Is not perfect, but desires to be perfected by Christ.
- Has connected with Christ and trusts the Lord for his salvation by God’s grace alone.
- Is yielding to the process of transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit.
- Desires to answer God’s call to engage their world with the gospel of Christ.
- Believes he/she has been called to minister to those who are incarcerated.
- Places a higher priority on ministry to his/her family than ministry to inmates.
- Will fervently pray for the incarcerated residents of each facility before and after each mission.
- Will earnestly work for the unity of the body and pray for all other Team Members.
- Will actively participate in their local church and be in fellowship with other believers.
- Agrees to pursue official approval as a TDCJ chapel volunteer.
- Will renew volunteer certification as are required.
- Agrees to follow all requirements of TDCJ and any Warden, Chaplain, or prison staff with whom they interact.
- Agrees to follow all guidelines of the Texas Matthew 25 Team leadership.
- Will respond to correspondence from the Texas Matthew 25 leadership and keep them apprised of any changes in their volunteer status as well as issues of needed prayer.
